Dachshund Paws & Pals Rescue

P.A.W.S

Placing Animals With Seniors (PAWS) is a program that is very close to our founders heart. When this rescue was started, it was decided that a focus would be on the senior dogs that deserve a warm, loving home to spend their last years. Most young purebred dogs are easily rescued or adopted from, but the seniors are often left behind. These are the animals that need our help the most. Once a foster homes takes home a senior dog, they learn the true meaning of rescue. Those poor souls have given their love and their life to their person for so long and usually an unfortunate circumstance has landed them homeless. Our PAWS program is geared towards finding these seniors a warm lap, a soft bed, an afternoon stroll and a kiss on the forehead, but most of all they deserve to spend the rest of their lives, no matter how long, safe and loved.

PAWS is a program we started to help place our aging pets, with senior parents. We are looking for grandma's and grandpa's that have a little extra love to give. The PAWS program is geared towards those 65 years and older.

Any dogs 10 years and older qualifies for the PAWS program. These pets are at no charge to anyone 65 years and older. If you are receiving a pet under the PAWS program you must have a co-adopter willing to sign adoption paperwork with you in case you are no longer able  to care for your pet.
